| About the Artist Karl Saila offers archival quality prints, note cards and decorative boxes produced from his original fine art. Primary emphasis is given to acrylic and watercolor painting.
Educated at the University of Massachusetts, Karl had been a professional engineer for most of his career. His life-long interest in art took the backseat for a while but he is now devoting himself to expanding and developing his work. As a self taught artist his technique builds on technical design training in his drawing, while painting to express how he feels and sees his subjects. Living in New England, Karl picks subjects in the region from coastlines, gardens and nature. His work has shown in several New England juried art shows including the annual Connecticut Arts Exhibition at Slater Museum (Norwich, 2003),the Mystic, CT Outdoor Art Festival(2005 to 9), the Historic New England show at Roseland Cottage in Woodstock, CT (2003-2006)and VIRTU in Westerly, RI (2003 to 2009). He has also displayed his work in Portland, Maine at their annual Sidewalk Arts Festival. We hope you like his work.
