Buggers and Nymphs
2010

9 x 12 Acrylic on paper

This piece came about to provide a birthday card for a friend I have known for many years.  Turning 70 and a fly fisherman, my sentiment was to say it was "time to hang out with buggers and nymphs".

Matted Print Size 1

North Rim Fire
2011
Acrylic on Paper
28 X 48 Dyptich

This is the 2003 Grand Canyon north rim forest fire seen from the south rim. The canyon is in the dark as the sun sets and the smoke rises in wild colors; a fantastic view for me.

Pennellville Road
2011
Watercolor

I painted this scene from my observations of the Pennellville area of Brunswick, Maine.  This is my way of showing Maine's lazy rural feeling on a summer's day

Valley Sunrise
2011
Acrylic on Canvas

My attempts to be more abstract in painting continue, but success is elusive.  This painting resulted from a recent such attempt; I guess my mind just saw Yosemite as it developed.

Interlude
2011
Acrylic on Canvas

I painted "Interlude" as a still life study and practice in glazing technique.

Birds in a Bush
2011
Acrylic on Canvas
20 X 48 Tryptich

The tryptich provided me with the opportunity to expand a series of small photo subjects into a large wall display; I used 3 16X20 canvases to paint the subjects.

Meadow Hideaway
2011
Watercolor on Paper

Hideaway began as a study of trees but the background brought to mind a mountain meadow.  Adding a little surprise in the bush brought about the name.
